Filipina Jack Animam just showed the world why she was deserving to be an Asian import in the First Women’s Basketball League of Serbia.
In her very first game in the league, Animam was quick to shut her doubters and critics up after carrying ZKK Radnicki Kragujevac to a crucial 78-77 win against powerhouse ZKK Proleter 023.
Animam posted monster numbers with 20 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals on an efficient eight of 11 shooting from the field.
Despite going up against other towering centers from the opposing team, Animam used her experience and high basketball IQ to score against them in the block.
In the crucial last three minutes of the ball game, ZKK Radnicki started to bank on Animam’s quickness underneath for a mismatch.
Aside from delivering in the most crucial stretch of the game, it was also Animam who helped increase their cushion to five, 76-71, with 27 seconds left after converting on a putback.
ZKK Radnicki overcame an early 14-point deficit in the first half, 16-30, and continued to share the ball that sparked their offensive avalanche in the third quarter.
Animam and her team will have one week of rest and recovery before taking on their next opponent on Saturday, October 9.
