Filipino volleyball superstar Marck Espejo is headed back to Japan after getting a call-up from Japanese professional club FC Tokyo.

A month after impressing with the Bani Jamra volleyball squad in the Bahrain professional league, Espejo will be returning to the team where he got his first international stint.

The powerful spiker will be looking to improve FC Tokyo in the upcoming 2021-2022 Japan V.League season.

With the offensive prowess Espejo showed in all four of his international import duties, he is currently one of the most sought players in the whole of Southeast Asia together with national teammate Bryan Bagunas.

Three years ago, Espejo started his international career in Japan after he was signed by Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler.

After his experience with the Japanese club, the Filipino stalwart flew to Thailand and played for the Visakha Volleyball Club before it was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

FC Tokyo will be counting on Espejo’s help after a disappointing 2020 season with an 8-27 overall win-loss record.

Espejo will be joining fellow Filipinos Thirdy Ravena, Juan Gomez de Liaño, Manuel Sumanguid, Kim Dayandante, Ysay Marasigan, Nico Almendras, Joeven Dela Vega, JP Bugauan, and Lloyd Josafat in Japan.
