Man accused of raping kin nabbed in Negros Occidental

Police arrested a farmer from Leon, Iloilo accused of rape morning of Dec 11, 2020 in Negros Occidental province.

Larren Cordova, 43, a resident of Barangay Biri Sur, Leon, was nabbed at his aunt’s house in Purok Gumamela, Barangay Talacagay, Hinoba-an town.

Members of Leon Police Station, together with Hinoba-an Police Station, collared the suspect under warrant of arrest for eight counts of rape by carnal knowledge. The case was docketed as Criminal Case No. 19-84122.

Judge Marie Yvette Go of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 32 in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant on July 22, 2019.

No bail was set for Cordova’s temporary liberty.

Lieutenant Sammy Gasataya, Leon police chief, said the suspect’s wife reportedly filed the charges against him.

He did not elaborate on the victim’s identity.

Cordova is now detained and will be presented to the court for the proper disposition of his case.
