BACOLOD City – An estimated P331,500 worth of suspected shabu was seized in anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Occidental from August 11 to 13.

In Bacolod, a young man was arrested again for allegedly engaging in the selling of illegal drugs at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 last Saturday.

Arturo Peñoso, of the said village, allegedly yielded 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P127,500 in a buy-bust operation, according to Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2.

Pendon said the suspect is a high-value individual, since he was also arrested for the same offense in 2020 when he was 17 years old.

However, he reportedly escaped from the Social Development Center (SDC), two months after his arrest, Pendon said.

Pendon said the suspect’s father is at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, while his older sibling is also in jail, for the same offenses.

Meanwhile, in Silay City, policemen raided the house of 38-year-old Clark Mondragon in Barangay Guimbala-on last Friday, and recovered 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000, a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition, .9mm caliber ammunition, an improvised tooter, and other non-drug items.

But Mondragon fled by jumping into a cliff at the back of his house, according to the police.

In E.B. Magalona town, a woman was also apprehended in a drug bust for the confiscation of P68,000 worth of suspected shabu last Sunday.
