More than P800,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized, 39 nabbed

BACOLOD City – 39 persons were arrested and an estimated total of P803,620 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in the police’s war against illegal drugs in Negros Island from March 10 to 16.

Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) made the biggest drug haul with P412,420, followed by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) with P345,900 worth of suspected shabu, and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) with P45,300 worth of the said contraband.

For arrested persons, Norppo has the highest number of apprehension of 18 individuals, followed by BCPO with 12, and Nocppo with nine.

In Negros Oriental, anti-illegal drug operations were conducted at the cities of Dumaguete and Bais, and the town of Sibulan.

Buy-bust operations here were conducted at Barangays 10, 12,19, 20, Singcang-Airport, Banago, and Mansilingan. These operations were led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and Police Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8.

In Negros Occidental, drug busts were conducted at the cities of Sagay, Talisay, Victorias, Bago, and La Carlota, and the town of Hinoba-an.
