Almost two weeks into the death of chop-chop victim Kristopher Cabalquinto, police said they have yet to identify any person of interest.

But Colonel Joeresty Coronica, Iloilo City police chief and concurrent commander of the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Cabalquinto, said that they have found leads that might help in their ongoing probe.

Coronica revealed that they have identified two vehicles of interest – a motorcycle and a four-wheeled vehicle – that were seen in areas in La Laz and Jaro districts which are not usually frequented by people.

But he did not elaborate further since the vehicles’ involvement is not yet conclusive.

Coronica said they are not eliminating the angle of crime of passion as the possible motive of the incident.

But it appeared that illegal drugs would still stand as the primary angle for Cabalquinto’s death.

He also revealed that they’re tracking down two of Cabalquinto’s friends who went “missing” after the victim’s body was found.

The two men left their home in San Miguel, Iloilo and were believed to have gone in hiding.

“Before Cabalquinto’s body was found, they were asking his sister if he had gone home,” Coronica said.

Earlier, police said they already identified alias Love-Love, the woman Cabalquinto was allegedly dating.

Love-Love, who allegedly resides in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao, Iloilo, turned out to be from Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao and later relocated to Barangay Lanit, Jaro.

However, she also did not return home at around the time Cabalquinto’s chopped body parts were found.

But aside from Love-Love from Jaro, police are also looking for another Love-Love from Arevalo district.

As to the other Love-Love’s involvement, Coronica did not elaborate further.

Police had earlier formed a SITG since what happened to Cabalquinto, the man whose body was chopped and left in three different places in Iloilo City, hogged headlines all over the country owing to the fact of how brutal he was killed.

The 32-year-old victim’s two arms were found at Zone 2, Barangay Ticud, La Paz around 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 6.

His headless body was recovered at Zone 1, Barangay Buhang, Jaro district at around 8:32 a.m.

On the other hand, his head was recovered afternoon of Nov. 7 at Quezon Street, Arevalo district.
