ROXAS City, Capiz – Super typhoon Odette displaced 37,982 individuals from 11,296 families in Capiz when it pummeled Western Visayas last week.
Based on data released by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Friday afternoon, the evacuees were from:
Roxas City – 3,119 families or 11,200 individuals
Jamindan – 218 families
Mambusao – 460 families or 1,621 individuals
Ivisan – 310 families or 917 individuals
Panay – 1,925 families or 6,379 individuals
Sigma – 543 families or 1,718 individuals
Pontevedra – 2, 380 families or 7, 909 individuals
Pilar – 750 families or 2,563 individuals
President Roxas – 316 families or 1,252 individuals
Maayon – 821 families or 2,638 individuals
Panit-an – 175 families or 635 individuals
Dumarao – 111 families or 458 individuals
Dao – 141 families or 478 individuals
Cuartero – 366 families or 1,195 individuals
Dumalag- 222 families or 796 individuals; and
Tapaz – 90 families or 339 individuals.
Most of the evacuees have returned to their homes. No one was hurt or killed at the height of the typhoon.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) are currently conducting assessment on the extent of damages caused by “Odette” in Capiz.
Representative of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-1st Engineering District headed by Engr. Julius Abela reported that no infrastructure projects or buildings were destroyed.
