Bacolod City – The municipality of Murcia offered an P80,000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects in the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl in Barangay San Miguel last week.
Police Major Robert Dejucos, Murcia town police chief, said the local barangay council offered P50,000 while Murcia town Mayor Gerry Rojas added P30,000.
Dejucos said the reward will be a big help in solving the case as they are having difficulty in identifying the suspects.
He said that they invited two persons of interest to their station, although they are still waiting for DNA tests to identify those responsible for the crime.
Last week, the girl identified only as ‘Kim’ was found dead in a sugarcane field.
An autopsy revealed she sustained damage to her kidney as a result of the supposed rape, along with damage to her liver and broken ribs.
They also found an injury to her ears, along with the victim’s neck showing signs of forced asphyxiation.
