The Philippines Football League (PFL) is on track to begin their first season of 2021 this coming April with the long-awaited Copa Paulino Alcantara.
Final plans are going to be made for the next couple of weeks after the PFL management bared their initial timeline of events, with Copa slated this April and the PFL fifth season after the June FIFA window.
2019 Champions United City FC (formerly Ceres-Negros United FC) will try to defend their title.
Copa was cancelled during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with the successful PFL bubble, the management was able to deploy the needed protocols for their tournaments to take place.
However, it is still not final whether the PFL will implement the same bubble concept format for all the matches and they still need to decide regarding that matter in their next set of meetings with the participating clubs.
The final set of participating clubs for both Copa and the PFL season proper were also not disclosed and are still yet to be released.
