Powerhouse teams DPWH and AMISTAD/TEJ Builders are both leading 3-0 in the ongoing 1st Mayor Stephen Palmares Pintados de Passi Open Invitational basketball tournament.

The DPWH squad continued their dominant outing and used a fierce-late rally to pull away against one of the veteran teams in the tourney, the JKG Mamba, 93-81.

It was a toe-to-toe affair the whole game as both answered scoring runs and traded baskets but DPWH had more gas in the tank after shooting efficiently in the crucial minutes of the game.

Pusoy Arenal led DPWH with his all-around effort, contributing 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 dimes, and 1 steal.

In the next game, the youngsters from the AMISTAD/TEJ Builders team blasted the Guimaras Leopards, 125-83.

The AMISTAD boys broke Guimaras’ two-game winning streak and proved that their run-and-gun style of play cannot be matched.

Guimaras’ bread and butter, their half-court set executions, seemed inefficient after going through a rough shooting patch.

Jofem Badoles performed under the limelight and received player of the game honors after chalking up 13 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

The game commissioner of the Pintados de Passi basketball tournament is Mr. Jorge Serapia, a former referee from the NCAA, UAAP, PCCL, and MPBL.
