BACOLOD City –  This city posted a 7 percent increase in business registration after hosting a Business One Stop Shop  from Jan 2 to Feb 29, 2020.

Permits and Licensing Division head Stela Rose Rayos said they accepted 20,953 business registrants this year, compared to 19,572 in the same period last year.

Rayos also said the closure of several business establishments, who have operated without a permit last year, may have triggered the business owners to register.

She added that almost all of business establishments they shuttered down last year already renewed their permits.

Since the one stop shop event is over, Rayos said a 25 percent surcharge will be imposed on businesses that failed to process their permits on time.

The city will also convene the members of the Joint Inspection Team this month and inspect of business establishments in the city.
