The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) confirmed that the Philippine Electronic Sports Organization (PESO) will be the country’s official National Sports Association (NSA) for esports.

As the Philippines’ official NSA, PESO will now be the officially appointed regulatory body in all of esports.

“As such, PESO is the sole recognized National Sports Association and governing body for the sport of ESPORTS in the Philippines,” read in the POC certification.

PESO President Brian Lim expressed his thankfulness to the POC for granting them their long-time goal of being recognized as the NSA for esports.

“We are honored and grateful for the trust that the POC placed in us. We embrace this huge responsibility as we continue to support our athletes and push the growth and development of Esports in the country,” said Lim.

As the country’s NSA for esports, PESO will have to lead and be at the forefront in all developments for the e-gamers and the community.

They will also be the main esports organization to tackle all queries and concerns regarding the country’s development and goals for the subject matter.

“We also echo POC’s call for unity among esports groups and communities as we all share the same goal to showcase the skills and abilities of Filipino gamers in the world arena and ultimately bring glory to our country,” Lim added.
