PONY Baseball and Softball International held their Asia Pacific Zone Board Meeting at Balay Kauswagan in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on December 2 and 3.
It was presided by Rodolfo Tingzon, Jr. president of PONY Philippines and also a representative of PONY International Southeast Asia.
The meeting was opened by PONY Asia Pacific Zone Director Takeharu Nasu, who expressed his excitement as Japan will celebrate their 50th anniversary, which is a monumental milestone for the organization.
PONY International President and CEO Abraham Key thanked everyone who came from thousands of miles to attend the board meeting.
This is an indication of all your commitment for the youth as we remain focus to provide them an opportunity to engage in softball and baseball outside of their houses to learn the attributes of the sports and ultimately to make them better adults, Key said.
The meeting commenced dedicating a moment honouring the father of Philippine and Asian Youth Baseball, Rodolfo Tingzon, Sr. who passed away last November 17.
His inspiring dedication has brought thousands of young Filipinos coming to love the sports, nurtured them to become better citizens and the discipline has helped shaped their future.
Reynaldo Fuentes, Visayas Softball Commissioner also presented plans and programs for the Visayas.
The attendees presented updates and country reports to the body. They also discussed preparations particularly the sites and dates of 2023 PONY Baseball World Series.
