The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) confiscated approximately Php13.4 million worth of suspected shabu during a week of intense anti-drug operations.

PRO-6’s records indicate that 1,972 grams of shabu were seized in 37 operations from April 29 to May 5.

These efforts led to the arrest of 44 individuals involved in drug trafficking. Among those arrested, 37 were classified as street-level individuals, while seven were considered high-value individuals (HVIs).

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 accounted for the largest amount of drugs seized, with 1,040 grams.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) confiscated around 408 grams; the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) secured 230 grams; the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) took in 184 grams; the Negros Occidental Police Office (NOCPPO) gathered 105 grams; and the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) recovered 5 grams.

The week’s largest haul occurred during a buy-bust operation on the evening of May 2 at Barangay Cabugao Sur, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, where more than a kilogram was seized from two individuals known as alias Perper and alias Bryan, both tagged as HVIs.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the Western Visayas police chief, commended the personnel for their significant seizures and arrests.

He encouraged officers to continue their efforts, urging them to identify and take action against the cohorts of the apprehended drug traffickers, based on available evidence.
