Probers hold cartographic sketches of two ‘suspicious-looking’ persons

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) Diergos is now holding a cartographic sketch of two persons who might be vital in the ongoing probe on the killing of businesswoman Claire Diergos.

Senior Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero, SIT Diergos spokesperson, said that some resource persons claimed to have seen the two men on board a vehicle snapping a photograph of Diergos’ vehicle – a Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV (license plate WRQ-846) – even before her body was discovered.

“Our resource persons said they were acting suspiciously,” Lindero said.

But he clarified that they are not considered as suspects or even “persons of interests.”

That’s why the SIT Diergos opted not to publicly release the two cartographic sketches pending further validation by the investigators.

“It’s still premature to determine their participation, if there is any, for now,” Lindero said.

He added that the two persons’ identities are still being investigated.

“That’s why, we have pointed out the need to locate the missing portions of the CCTV to counter-check with the cartographic sketches of the persons who were seen at the scene proper prior to the discovery of the body,” Lindero said.

On Nov 11, SIT Diergos, through Santa Barbara police chief Major Raymond Celoso, sent a letter to Barangay Captain Ricardo Bayog of Inangayan village Santa Barbara, Iloilo asking him to explain why several parts of the CCTV footage taken on Oct 26 (the day Diergos’s body was discovered) and Oct 27 in front of the Iloilo Provincial Motorpool office were expunged.

In the same letter, Celoso noted that such footage is vital evidence in the ongoing investigation on Diergos’ death.

But Bayog said he has no idea why some portions of the footage got deleted.

Meanwhile, Lindero said they are waiting for two more cartographic sketches in the coming days.
