Uprising Filipina weightlifting superstar Rosegie Ramos just clinched a seat in the upcoming Paris Olympics confirmed on April 2, 2024.

It was the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) that announced Ramos’ late entry to the official competing squad of the Philippine national weightlifting team.

According to the POC, Ramos booked the ticket after a stellar campaign during the IWF World Cup weightlifting event on April 1, 2024, in Phuket, Thailand.

Ramos competed in the women’s 49 kg division and lifted a total of 190kg to secure a first-place finish in the Group B division.

The aspirant was nothing but spectacular after lifting 87kg in the snatch and capped off her campaign with a 103kg score in the clean and jerk.

All that Ramos had to do was to make sure that she would maintain her top 10 ranking after the IWF World Cup.

After her gold medal finish in Thailand, Ramos is now an official participant in the Olympics and will seek to sustain her momentum in the most prestigious sporting event in the world.

A native of Zamboanga, Ramos is a cousin of former Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz who will aim to solidify her spot in Paris if she finishes with a decent ranking in the upcoming event in southern Thailand.
