Roxas City cops recover three motorcycles

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police here recovered three motorcycles from junkshops here on March 5, 2020 following surprise inspections to run after persons behind motorcycle-napping incidents.

Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City police spokesperson, said the chassis and engine numbers of the motorcycles have been tampered.

Arcangeles said the owner of the other motorcycle failed to present to composite team members papers to prove their ownership of the vehicles.

The local government of Roxas City formed the composite team and conducted surprise inspection on several junkshops here to check if parts of stolen motorcycles were sold to them.

The teams is composed of the Roxas City police, the Highway Patrol Group, Traffic Management Unit, City Licensing Division, and the Capiz Provincial Crime Laboratory.

Since February 19 this year, six cases of motorcycle-napping were recorded. Two units were recovered while four others are under investigation.
