Suspected illegal drugs and firearms were recovered in a firearm raid at Pavia, Iloilo morning of Nov. 16.

The suspect, 31-year-old Gerald Khent Lagunday, was arrested after police operatives searched his house at Barangay Amparo.

Members of Pavia Municipal Police Station, together with 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and Iloilo PECU, conducted the operation following persistent reports of Lagunday’s illegal drug activities.

Executive Judge Rose Edith G. Togonon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Iloilo City issued the search warrant.

Recovered from Lagunday’s possession and control were 26 sachets of suspected shabu, two homemade 12-gauge shotguns with four pieces of ammunition, and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Major Dadje Delima, Pavia police chief, said the seized drugs weighed around 65 grams with a standard drug price of P455,600.

It was believed that the suspect worked as a “bodegero” or warehouseman for another drug personality.

He’s also operating in neighboring towns of Pavia.

While the suspect admitted that he was into illegal drug use, he denied owning the confiscated drugs.

The suspect is now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
