For whatever it’s worth, members of the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) PALIBOSFER on Saturday conducted reenactments in Estancia, Iloilo where three young businessmen were killed on Sept 14, 2022.

Senior Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero, Jr., SITG spokesperson, said the reenactments happened at the house of lone survivor Jevron Parohinog in Barangay Calumpang and at Barangay Pani-an, the area where the victims were allegedly waylaid and shot.

The reenactment started at 10 a.m. and was finished at 12 p.m.

Present during the reenactment were the three witnesses – Parohinog, a security guard and a barangay kagawad.

Members of the first responders from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were also in attendance.

“During the investigation, there are some gaps in the judicial affidavits of our witnesses and by doing reenactment, questions would be answered,” Lindero said.

He added that it would validate the statements of the three witnesses.

On Thursday, Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, said that he was dissatisfied with the progress of the investigation.

Francisco said the probe being undertaken by SITG PALIBOSFER is painfully slow.

The following day, the SITG released a statement on the progress of their investigation.

Colonel Adrian Acollador, Iloilo police commander and SITG commander, submitted to the impression of the region’s top cop and vowed to push his team to comply the soonest with the remaining actionable items.

But Acollador clarified that most of the remaining matters related to the investigation are already beyond the control of the SITG.

Among these are the result of the Integrated Ballistic Information System relative to the ownership of the gun used in the shooting and Parohinog’s consent to submit his mobile for digital forensic investigation.

The SITG also said that they are still awaiting copies of judicial affidavits of the parent and girlfriend of Jan Paul Mark Bosque from the National Bureau of Investigation-Region 6.

The SITG sent a letter on Sept 24 to NBI-6 requesting copies of the judicial affidavits. The NBI-6 received the letter on Sept 27.

On Oct 3, the agency said that the SITG’s request was referred to its central office, particularly to the Office of the Director, for appropriate action.

The parent and girlfriend of Bosque executed their affidavits through the NBI-6.

It has to be noted that the SITG investigators approached the family of Bosque and his girlfriend, and the families of two other victims a day or two after the incident.

To date, only the parent of Mark Clarenz Libao executed the affidavit through the SITG.

Had the SITG given the copy as soonest as possible, they could “also make validation on the significant information contained therein.”
