BACOLOD City – Two persons were shot dead by an unidentified person on a motorcycle along Araneta Street in Barangay 15 here yesterday.
Police identified the victims as Nobert Belonio Aguda alias “Apong” of Barangay 35 here; and Kenneth Jamandre Española of Barangay 16 here.
Major Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 1, said the victims were walking when a lone gunman tailed and shot them around 1 a.m.
Bonilla said the initial report they received was about a robbery incident allegedly involving the said victims.
But when they responded, it turned out to be a shooting incident. Bonilla said the victims died on the spot.
“Basi nakakita ang suspect opportunity kag nasundan sila,” Bonilla said, adding that the perpetrator might have targeted Aguda.
Police recovered from the scene a black bag containing a screwdriver and pliers, eight empty fired cartridges and three deformed fired bullets of a .45 caliber firearm.
Bonilla said they already have a lead on the perpetrator, as they are looking into vengeance as a possible motive in the incident.
Bonilla said that Aguda was an alleged noted robber involved in some robbery and akyat-bahay incidents here.
Police are checking the background of Aguda’s companion to determine if he also had a previous case. They are also exploring other possible angles.
