Tigbauan town reclaims Covid-free tag

The town of Tigbauan in Iloilo province is once again free from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) after two of its active cases finally recovered on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

In her Facebook page, Mayor Suzette Tenefrancia-Alquisada announced that the town is now Covid-free.

“Tigbauan is once again Covid-free. As of 12:00 noon today, we have recorded two recoveries,” she said.

According to Alquisada, the two recoveries were a 73-year-old female from Poblacion 5 (Case No. 98) and a 35-year-old female from Brgy. Dorong-an (Case No.99).

Of the 99 total registered cases in the town, 97 have recovered while two expired.

Meanwhile, Western Visayas has recorded 86 new confirmed cases on Wednesday based on a bulletin issued by Department of Health Region 6 (DOH-6).

This brings the regional total cases to 19,262 with 1,847 active cases.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 recoveries in the region reached 16,872 with 36 new additional recoveries recorded on Wednesday while deaths numbered to 543. (ERS)
