Vaccination cards, face shields not required during election day

Voters will no longer be required to present their vaccination cards and wear face shields at polling precincts during election day on May 9, 2022.

This was clarified by Iloilo City Commission on Elections (Comelec) Assistant II Jonathan Sayno.

“Vaccination card kag face shield indi requirement sa pag-vote sa Mayo 9, 2022,” he said in an interview on Sunday.

But Sayno said voters will still be required to wear face masks.  He added that other health protocols will still be imposed during the election.

Each voter shall be required to undergo temperature scanning upon entry.

Voters with high temperature and those who manifest COVID-19 symptoms shall be required to isolate in a separate room.

According to Sayno, voters who exhibit symptoms will still be allowed to vote in the designated isolation area.

“Kon may mataas nga temperature, i-isolate. May ara kita nga gindesignate nga isolated polling precincts, didto igadal-on kag didto pabotohon sila. Ining pandemya, sintoma sang COVID-19 indi ini hadlang para indi siya pabotohon, dapat pabotohon gid sila,” he said in an earlier interview.

Sayno added that medical personnel will be deployed to different polling center in the metro to monitor voters who will exhibit COVID-19 symptoms.

The voting time for the local and national elections is from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. (DG)
