After National Basketball Training Center’s announcement of postponing the Regional Finals from its initial schedule of February due to the Covid-19 scare, the champion teams from Western Visayas are finally ready to battle for the NBTC Regional title and a chance to represent Region VI in the NBTC National leg in Manila this March 7-8 2020.

Basketball fanatics will flock to Ibajay, Aklan to witness the clash of the titans as only one team will represent the Region on March 20-27 for the national leg.

The Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix, the champs in the Iloilo province, will prove that they are the most dominant team in Western Visayas as they are yet to drop a single championship game in all of the tournaments they joined.

However, the different championship teams from the different provinces came in prepared and are also excited to set foot on the court and win the title.

The Bacolod champs, the Tay Tung High School squad, the Aklan Melchor High School from Aklan, the Buenavista National High School team from Guimaras, and the University of Antique Laboratory School Tibiao Campus, who will represent Antique, are all ready for the NBTC tourney.

“This year NBTC regional finals will feature the champion team from Negros to join the regional finals unlike before that Negros island has their qualifying and the champion team will immediately go to the National finals. The people will expect a highly competitive basketball game since Sr. High school students are included in the line-up plus all teams came from elimination or qualifying rounds in their respective cities/provinces. This is the champions League in which Champion team will represent Western Visayas in the national championship,” Dr. Richard Gabayoyo said, NBTC’s area head for Western Visayas and Dumaguete.
