Three hundred PNP recruits will soon boost the strength of Western Visayas’s police force.
The recruits took their oath on July 1, 2020 at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) headquarters in Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City.
Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, Western Visayas police chief, led the oath-taking ceremony.
As they embrace their new life as officers, Pamuspusan reminded the newbie cops that much is expected of them since they are already “government property.”
“You are now subject to rules, policies and regulations governing the organization,” he said.
The 300 new cops include 255 males and 45 females.
The oath-taking ceremony was simultaneously held nationwide. It also included a virtual message from PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa as guest of honor and speaker.
The recruits will undergo Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) for six months at the Regional Training School 6 (RTC6) in Bacolod City.
After that, they will go through another six months of Field Training Program (FTP) which will qualify them for permanency.
While on training, they will receive a monthly basic salary of P29,668, on top of allowances and other benefits.
Meanwhile, 16 recruits who will be deployed to PRO-8 (Eastern Visayas) joined Tuesday’s oath-taking ceremony.
They are qualified applicants of PRO-6 but volunteered to be part of PRO-8 due to the region’s limited quota.
