A 34-year-old woman died while her husband survived after their motorcycle collided with a tricycle afternoon of Nov 17, 2022 in Buenavista, Guimaras.

Prime Rose Acosta, 34, of Barangay Gaban, San Lorenzo, Guimaras suffered multiple injuries on her body.

Major Jeffrey Ferrer, Buenavista police chief, said the most fatal one was in her head.

Prime Rose’s husband and motorcycle driver, 37-year-old Adam Lynwyn, was also injured in the incident. But he is already in stable condition.

Police reports said the couple was navigating Barangay Salvacion, Buenavista around 5:55 p.m. Thursday when their motorcycle rammed into the rear portion of a tricycle.

Ferrer said both vehicles were heading in the same direction.

The tricycle driver, Reynaldo Olarte, 42, also a resident of Salvacion village, was making a left turn when the incident happened.

Ferrer said Olarte signaled to make a left turn but the motorcycle was speeding.

“Adam might have miscalculated causing him to ram into the tricycle,” he said.

Unfortunately, the couple was not wearing a crash helmet when the collision happened.

First responders brought the couple to Buenavista Emergency Hospital but Prime Rose was pronounced dead on arrival.

Olarte and his passengers were also brought to the hospital after they complained of body pains.

There were no talks yet about a possible settlement from both camps.
