WV lists 184 new COVID-19 cases

184 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Western Visayas were confirmed by the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-WV CHD) on Sept. 14, 2020.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region is now at 7,739 as of Sept. 14.

The latest batch of new COVID-19 cases are composed of 156 new local cases, 17 new cases for verification, 10 new cases of Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) and 1 new case of a Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF).

Iloilo City reported the most number of new local cases on Sept. 14, with 48, followed by Bacolod City with 43, Negros Occidental with 32, Capiz with 19, and Iloilo province with 14.

17 new cases which are still for verification are in Bacolod City.

As to the new LSI cases, Capiz province reported 5 new cases, followed by Negros Occidental with 3, and Iloilo province with 2 new cases.

The remaining new case is an ROF, a 26-year-old female from Cadiz City, Negros Occidental (WV Patient No. 7701).

A total of 87 new recoveries were reported on Sept. 14 by the DOH-WV CHD, pushing the total recoveries in the region to 4,271.

More than half of new recoveries were from Bacolod City, with 54, followed by Negros Occidental with 9, Iloilo City with 8, Capiz with 7, Iloilo with 6, Guimaras with 2, and Aklan province with 1 new recovery.

Two new COVID-19 deaths were reported on Sept. 14, which included an 84-year-old male from Pavia, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 4634), and a 72-year-old female from City Proper, Iloilo City (WV Patient No. 7644).

WV Patient No. 7644 was also a newly reported local COVID-19 case.

The total COVID-19 death toll in Western Visayas as of Sept. 14 is now at 120.
