A three-year-old baby girl from the town of Pandan in Antique province – the youngest patient in Western Visayas – survived the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
WV Patient No. 75 is among the seven new recoveries recorded in the region on Friday, according to the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Western Visayas (DOH-CHD 6).
Dr. Ma. Sophia Pulmones, chief of the Local Health Support Division of DOH-CHD 6, said the other survivors include a 68-year-old male from Pandan, Antique (WV Patient No. 49); a 28-year-old female from Pandan, Antique (WV Patient No. 51); a 56-year-old male from Pandan, Antique (WV Patient No. 60) and a 69-year-old male from Pandan, Antique (WV Patient No. 61).
Two more repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) also recovered from COVID-19.
“We have recorded two more OFW repatriates nga naka-recover from COVID-19 involving a 38-year-old male from Silay City, Negros Occidental (WV Patient No. 56) and a 30-year-old female from Banga, Aklan (WV Patient No. 30),” she reported in a virtual press briefing on Friday.
However, one new case was recorded in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental – a 38-year-old male (WV Patient No. 102).
Pulmones said the patient is currently admitted to a health facility.
As of Friday, COVID-19 cases in the region totaled to 102 with 10 deaths.
61 patients, or 60 percent, have recovered.
