39 COVID-infected cops get cash aid

BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 in Iloilo City extended cash assistance of P234,000 to 39 personnel of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) who recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director turned over the P6,000 cash aid to each of the said personnel at the provincial police headquarters here yesterday.

Palgue thanked Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, chief of Philippine National Police (PNP), through Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, PRO-6 director, for extending financial assistance to the personnel of the provincial police force who were previously infected with COVID-19.

As of June 21, 2021, a total of 165 personnel have been infected by the virus since the start of the pandemic.

Around 30 of which were active cases while 135 have recovered and already returned to their respective duties.
