The NLEX Road Warriors drew their last card before the year ends after picking up superstar guard Robert Bolick from the NorthPort Batang Pier via a three-team trade.
After a failed stint in the Japan B. League, Bolick is expected to suit up again in the PBA as the board already approved the trade proposal which also involved the San Miguel Beermen.
Initially, Don Trollano, Ben Adamos, Kris Rosales, and NLEX’s 49th Season Second Round pick will be shipped to NorthPort in exchange for Bolick and Kent Salado.
However, a late proposal involving San Miguel made the three-team swap possible after the Beermen offered Allyn Bulanadi, Jeepy Faundo, and their 51st Season Second Round pick to acquire the rights for Trollano.
The final trade then formalized Bolick’s arrival with the Road Warriors and Trollano’s addition to San Miguel effective today.
Bolick is expected to deliver right away as the Frankie Lim-mentored NLEX squad will be without Kevin Alas for one more year after the savvy guard suffered another torn ACL injury.
Before Bolick left the PBA for Japan several months ago, he averaged All-Star numbers and was dropping 23 points per game for the Batang Pier.
On the other hand, Trollano will be reuniting with his former teammates in Adamson as well as his head coach Leo Austria in San Miguel.
Known to be an efficient two-way player, Trollano will be filling huge minutes for the banged-up Beermen team as some of their key ballers are still sidelined due to their respective injuries.
If San Miguel stays healthy again, Trollano will be forming a formidable squad together with June Mar Fajardo, Terrence Romeo, Jericho Cruz, Simon Enciso, Chris Ross, and Jeron Teng.
