Daily Guardian Shines as Finalist in PPI Community Press Awards

Daily Guardian continues to pace Ilonggo community journalism after making it to the finalists roster of the 2023 Community Press Awards of the Philippine Press Institute, the national association of newspapers.

The Community Press Awards recognizes community newspapers for the following categories: Best in Photojournalism, Best Edited Community Newspaper, Best in Environmental Reporting, Best in Business and Economic Reporting, and Best Editorial Page.

Apart from becoming a finalist in the regional awards, Daily Guardian is also a finalist in the PPI – PHAP AWARDS ON OUTSTANDING STORIES ON HEALTH INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION and PPI – NOVARTIS THINK PINK AWARDS ON OUTSTANDING STORIES ON BREAST CANCER.

Daily Guardian editor-in-chief, Francis Allan L. Angelo, is also a finalist in the PPI – PHAP AWARDS.

Angelo also serves as a trustee for Visayas of the PPI.

The winners will be recognized on April 25 at Century Park Hotel in Manila, in time for the 60th anniversary of the PPI.
