BACOLOD City – City Administrator Em Ang, executive director and deputy for administration and operations of the Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF), said Sunday that the EOC will recommend for the de-escalation of the quarantine status of the city after the downtrend in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases here.
Bacolod City recorded only one new COVID-19 case Saturday.
Ang told Daily Guardian that the EOC will recommend the de-escalation of the quarantine status “because our data shows that we meet the criteria for de-escalation with our gatekeeping indicators showing remarkable progress from two weeks ago.”
Bacolod is currently under General Community Quarantine status.
“I am hoping and praying that the downward trend in new COVID-19 cases in Bacolod continues,” she added.
Ang said that with the public’s cooperation and strict observance of health protocols and guidelines, “we are well on our way to limiting the spread of the virus and possibly flattening the curve soon.”
COVID-19 cases in this city went down by 71 percent from September to October 2020, EOC data indicated.
