Filipino boxing star Jonas Sultan has set his eyes on Japanese world champion Naoya Inoue as his next opponent.

During another session of the Philippine Sportswriters’ Association (PSA) Online Forum, Sultan bared that their ultimate plan right now is to stage a clash with the current unified bantamweight champion Inoue.

“There’s no perfect fighter. Everyone has his weakness. Yes, he is strong, but I will study him thoroughly and be in the best form possible when we clash,” said Sultan.

Sultan’s name exploded in the world of boxing after outlasting Puerto Rico’s projected next big thing, Carlos Caraballo, boxing legend Miguel Cotto’s prodigy.

Caraballo was already a household name in boxing and was undefeated in 14 fights before meeting the relentless Sultan who proved he was the bigger and stronger puncher when he knocked down the Puerto Rican four times.

Sultan’s huge win over Caraballo then helped propel his fighting value in the market in just a matter of two weeks. Even Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions president Sean Gibbons wants him to fight again as soon as possible.

However, some boxing experts said that Sultan must tackle his compatriots’ Nonito Donaire Jr. and Johnriel Casimero first who are also in the bantamweight division as Sultan.

Both Donaire and Casimero still have pending fights this December and are yet to reply to the possible showdown with Sultan.
