The New York Knicks pulled off a one-sided victory over the league-leading Boston Celtics squad, 118-109, in the ongoing NBA regular season on April 12, 2024.

After two huge wins over the Chicago Bulls and the Milwaukee Bucks during the past five days, New York extended its NBA winning streak to three and is looking to close out their regular season campaign with a bang before going back to the drawing board when the playoffs begin.

New York quickly sucked the life out of the Celtics in the first half when they pummeled them in the first two quarters, outscoring them 69-48, to head to the second half with oozing confidence.

Jalen Brunson maintained his superstar-level performance after schooling Boston’s perimeter defense with his efficient scoring, spearheading New York’s early offensive avalanche with a barrage of field goals.

The hefty lefty continued to pile up the points in the third and helped the Knicks officially leave the Celtics behind as they established a commanding 29-point lead.

Boston then waved the early white flag as they put all of their bench players early and opted to rest their starters for fresher legs in the next game.

Despite a little lift from Boston’s bench mob that trimmed New York’s lead to just 10 points, time wasn’t on their side and failed to buy buckets in the final minute of the game.

Brunson capped off his stellar outing with 39 big points in just three quarters built from an efficient 15/23 shooting from the field including six made three-pointers out of 11 attempts.

Backstopping Brunson was Donte DiVincenzo who contributed 17 makers, four rebounds, four assists, and a steak while Josh Hart had a dominant double-double record of 16 points and 16 boards.

With the win, the Knicks maintained the third spot in the Eastern Conference with a 48-32 win-loss record and will aim to win its fourth straight game today, against the Brooklyn Nets.
