Out of eighty-one (81) provinces of the country, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office ranked No. 2 in Statistical Planning and Coordination during the 2018 PSA Awards Night held at Heritage Hotel, Pasay, City, Manila on June 21, 2019.
The Statistical Planning and Coordination is one of the six categories in the 2018 Performance Rating of Provincial Statistical Offices in which Guimaras got a notable rating of 80.0% which placed them at rank 2.
The award for this category was given to provinces with the most number of coordination activities at the local level led by the Provincial Statistics Committee, no. of statistical issues/concerns resolved through resolutions, involvement in inter-agency statistical committees, and conduct of National Statistical Month (NSM) activities.
In information and dissemination category, PSA-Guimaras ranked 8th among the 81 provinces.
PSA-Guimaras thanked the media and the Philippine Information Agency for helping disseminate its statistical releases and survey activities.
“Even though the PSA- Guimaras did not succeed in other categories yet this is an honor for us to be recognized as second placer in statistical planning and coordination category in the whole country, we really did our best in the daily undertaking of our office which we successfully improved our overall ranking by 28 notches said,” said Provincial Statistics Officer (PSO) Nelida B. Losare of PSA- Guimaras.
The awarding is an annual activity of the PSA to acknowledge the outstanding performances of the regional and field offices and to recognize their accomplishments for the year wherein winners were thoroughly determined by their accomplishments subject to the ratings provided for in the 2018 PSA Awards manual.
