Capiz Provincial Board Member Thea Faith T. Reyes successfully led the celebration of Women’s Month in March 2021 that was themed “Juana laban sa pandemya, Kaya!”
One of the activities was WISE COLLECTIVE: A Learning Fellowship with Women Innovators of Roxas City which was participated in by women school heads of Roxas City.
The aim of the activity was to recognize the innovations of school heads in their respective schools to extend services to parents and students amid the pandemic.
The Roxas City Schools Division headed by Division Supt. Feliciano Buenafe Jr. and Dr. Nerissa Resente, SGOD head, supported the WISE COLLECTIVE event.
Also, a two-day webinar was held with stakeholders of the women’s sector which included Guidance Counselors, Kiwanis, JCI Makawiwili, RCCOWI, Teachers, PNP Womens Desk, CSWDO, PSWDO and the media.
The webinar tackled Positive Wellness for Women by Agnes Q. Villarruz, Managing Director of Gerry Roxas Foundation.
Atty. Maia Badayos Unico, Program Director sang Ateneo Human Rights Center, discussed Gender Based Violence and laws for the protection of women and their children.
Hundreds of women in the first district of Capiz also received Ganda Kits from the Gerry Roxas Foundation kag JA Araneta Foundation.
The kits included pressed powder, lipstick, eyeliner, cologne kag comb.
These activities were supported by Secretary Mar Roxas, 1st District Rep. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones, Vice Governor James Mitang Magbanua and Roxas City Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas
Board Member Reyes, chair of the committee on women, social welfare, family and persons with disability, said the activity aimed to raise the morale and give attention to the plight of women in Capiz amid the pandemic.
