P258,400 worth of ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – Seven persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations here last Thursday which resulted in the confiscation of P258,400 worth of illegal drugs.

In Barangay Singcang-Airport, Ernesto Cardeñas, who is said to be a high value individual, was arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) after he allegedly yielded 28 grams of suspected shabu worth P190,400.

According to the CDEU, they subjected Cardeñas for monitoring after they received reports on his alleged engagement in the illegal drug trade.

Cardeñas, who has yet to be reached for comment, is detained at Police Station 8.

Meanwhile, an alleged drug den was dismantled by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 Special Enforcement Team and PDEA-Negros Occidental Seaport Interdiction Unit at Pilit 2, Barangay 6 here.

Six persons were arrested and authorities confiscated from them 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000, improvised tooters, lighters, and the marked money.
