Tennis superstar Roger “The Swiss Maestro” Federer donated $1 million to his Swiss countrymen to help them in their needs against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the World Health Organization, Switzerland placed ninth with the highest number of infections in the world.

Federer then donated the money and said that all the Swiss people should be helping in times like this and nobody should be left behind.

With the increase in patients testing positive for COVID-19, the Swiss government decided to tighten their safety parameters, including the ban of small group gatherings consisting of five members.

Also, the government issued an order to close all schools, places for leisure including all restaurants, bars, and food shops.

“Our contribution is just a start. We hope that others might join in supporting more families in need. Together we can overcome this crisis! Stay healthy!” added Federer.
