Top cop ‘returns home’ to Negros Occ.

Police Brigadier General Leonardo Cesneros, Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) of Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 in Central Luzon, visited the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) Dec 13, 2019.

The visit is part of Cesneros’ sentimental journey to previous assignments in his entire career.

He was the previous Deputy Regional Director for Operations and subsequently became the DRDA of the then PRO-18 or Negros Island Region (NIR) where he was promoted to a star-rank.

Negros Island Region was dissolved via the Executive Order (EO) No. 38, signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last August 7, 2017, revoking EO No. 138 signed by former president Benigno Aquino III which created the region.

The new EO reverted the provinces of Negros Occidental to Western Visayas (Region VI) and Negros Oriental to Central Visayas (Region VII).

Part of Cesneros’s activities is the launching of the My Brother’s Keeper. This is in relation with the Internal Cleansing Program of the Philippine National Police focusing on the prevention of misdemeanors among police officers and promoting family-oriented and God-centered policing.

Following the launch, a seminar was held with Colonel Elmar Sillador (Retired) and Pastor Henry M. Manuncia Executive Director of ECARE Compassion Ministries as the resource speakers.

The seminar focused on the PNP Memorandum Circular on the implementation of the revitalized internal cleansing program. This was attended by religious leaders of different denominations acting as life coaches of the police as well as the squad leaders of the different squads in NOCPPO and Bacolod City Police Office
