BACOLOD City – Personnel of Police Station 2 are investigating two angles in the death of a man who was gunned down at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here last Friday.

Police Captain Leo Estopa, station commander, said they are eyeing grudges and illegal drug as possible motives in the murder of 48-year-old Eduardo Garcia.

Investigation indicated that Garcia was walking home from a barbeque stall around 6:30 pm Friday when two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot him.

Garcia suffered a lone gunshot wound in the head and was brought to a hospital where he later expired.

Estopa said the incident was well-planned, adding that the victim was being followed by the perpetrators before the shooting happened.

Although the victim was not included in their drugs list and recent monitoring, Estopa said they are looking into drugs as a secondary motive in the crime committed.

He said Garcia was released in 2016 after his illegal drugs case was dismissed.

The victim’s family told the police that Garcia sounded irritated while talking to someone on the phone recently.

“Even ang pamilya niya blanko man sa natabo kay wala man ang biktima gapanugid kung may nakontra siya,” he added.

He said they will check closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footages in nearby establishments for the possible identification of the suspects, adding that they already have an initial description.
