ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 59-year-old person facing a charge for serious physical injuries was arrested Tuesday morning at Brgy. Tanza Norte, Panay, Capiz.

Judy Bornales did not resist when the police served a warrant of arrest at his house.

Judge Henry B. Avelino of the 2nd Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Pontevedra-Panay issued the warrant on July 28, 2021.

The court recommended a P24,000 bail for his temporary liberty.

The suspect is presently detained at the Panay Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, the Roxas City police is set to file a frustrated homicide case against the suspect who shot a 41-year-old farmer in Brgy. Milibili here.

PMS Gamin Unarce said that the case will be filed before the City Prosecutors Office against Noel Lajo, 30, of Brgy. Libas here for shooting Rey Bonite, a resident of Sitio Pamumbungan of said barangay.

The incident happened on August 1 when the victim went to the house of Albert Estidula.

A commotion occurred which was later pacified.

But as Bonite was on his way home, Lajo allegedly shot his buttocks.

Police recovered from the crime scene two empty ammunition shells and a live .357-caliber ammo.

Police are eyeing old grudges as motive for the incident.
